Laura Krusemark – Bio
Multi-talented, mystical, and inspiring, are just a few words that have been used to describe the creations of Laura. A true Renaissance woman, she is a visionary artist as well as being a classically trained pianist. Both albums, Masters of Melody and Sounds of Christmas Spirit, are available worldwide.
With a B.F.A not only in Fine Arts – Oil Painting and Piano Performance from Bethany College, but also a Bachelors in Fashion Design from The Illinois Institute of Art – Chicago, Laura brings a broad range of inventive knowledge to her creations.
Inspired by the mystery and beauty of all creation, she expresses this cosmic dance through her art, playing with many different mediums from oil to charcoal, pastels and gold leaf in her mystical artworks. Having endless curiosity and love for learning and experimentation, she is always finding new ways of sharing her visions.
Laura works as a fine artist and classical pianist, exhibiting her artwork worldwide, while recording original compositions for her future record release. She currently resides in the wild and windy farmlands of Kansas.
Karen Voss – Bio
With an interest in fashion, an eye for detail and love of creating, Karen Voss handcrafts jewelry that is both practical and exquisite to accessorize any outfit. From running the grocery store in jeans or to showing up in your Sunday best for an evening out, handmade jewelry adds a pop of color or bling. Be the head-turner at the ball or the class act at the mall with jewelry from KV Creations.
Being artistic in jewelry making is Karen’s goal along with making pieces with comfort, style and fashion. Following the trends and creating a variety of pieces using different mediums make the art of jewelry exciting and fun!
Handcrafting lovely pieces seems to be a natural extension of Karen’s award-winning drawing and painting hobby. She creates with different gauges of wire, needle and thread, or beading wire. Purchasing beads and findings for the pieces is as enjoyable as the art itself, she says. Karen spends time studying and learning different techniques. Self-taught, Karen says she learns something new with each piece.
Her main profession in education goes hand in hand with her willingness to learn a new skill. Her occupation is paraeducator for USD308 Hutchinson High School. She also works part-time at Home Depot in the garden department and as a cashier. Hard work comes natural as Karen once worked as an editor and reporter at The Hutchinson News for more than 20 years. Karen is also a musician and has played piano and organ at various area churches.
Hopefully, you will enjoy viewing and purchasing these pieces as much as Karen enjoys creating them. She only uses high-end gemstones and fine findings to create bracelets, necklaces and earrings. She is always willing to do commissioned work as well – either with her paintings or with jewelry. She admires the work of entrepreneurial jewelry designers like Sara Lovecraft, Candie Cooper and Danielle Wicks. She also subscribes to a monthly bead box from Potomac Bead Company based in Maryland and Bargain Bead Box.
